Cricket on Five

I designed this television ident for Channel Five to use during the coverage of The Ashes, cricket’s most celebrated biannual event.

A normal cricket stroke was shot on chroma key at the very high rate of 2000 frames per second. In post production I simulated the effect of stroboscopic photography by freezing frames as the movement took place. I also created the dark studio environment to contrast with the cricketer’s whites.
